You will enjoy a building that, since its construction in the 17th century as an Augustinian convent, has experienced numerous events such as disentailment, serving as headquarters in the War of Independence or as a general food warehouse in the Civil War, until its current purpose as a church open to worship, presided over by the devout image of the Virgin of Tears.

You will discover a basilica-style layout, with the unique feature of a church within a church, where you will learn about the great historical figures who have walked within the walls of the building, such as Saint Pedro Poveda or Don Carlos Ros González, with the Schola Cantorum foundation, which would be the origin of the Boys' Choir of the Guadix Cathedral.

You will be moved by the faithful image of the face of Jesus, according to the Holy Shroud of Turin, through the image of Sovereign Power (Ecce Homo), which reflects the scientific-forensic studies carried out with the physiognomy and wounds of the Turin canvas and its coincidence with the Gospels or the Child God of Divine Mercy, a Mannerist jewel from the beginning of the 17th century attributed to the circle of Bernabé de Gaviria, all of them framed in frescoes or mural paintings of the originals of the Andalusian Baroque.
